STEP ONE: FIND INSPIRATION FOR YOUR SPRING OUTFITS
Search on Pinterest for style inspiration, and save images of what you love to a new board for your spring outfits inspiration. There’s no limit here, so save as many images as you’d like at first. You can do this quickly in one setting, or spend a bit of time over several days pinning inspiration. Once you have a nice collection of images, narrow them down to your top twelve. This will help you in the next steps! For an example, my top twelve images are below.
STEP two: reflect on your inspiration images of spring outfits
Looking at your top twelve style inspiration images, reflect on the predominant colors, overall style characteristics, and common themes you see in these photos.
Make a list of the six predominant colors you see in your images. Or, you can use Canva like I did to copy and paste images of the spring outfits you pinned on Pinterest. Then you can quickly match the predominant colors. My colors are white, cream/ecru, light blue, tan, taupe, and black.
Then make a list of the six specific style characteristics you find appealing in these images. The style characteristics I gravitate to are simple, chic, neutral, polished, elevated, and minimal.
Lastly, look for common themes. If you see a particular item repeated in lots of these images then it means it’s an item you’re drawn to. Make a list of the six clothing items that are a common theme. Mine are two-tone low heels/flats, button-down shirts, white/ecru jeans, blazers, light/medium wash denim, and classic sunglasses.
STEP three: take inventory of your current wardrobe and make edits
Now it’s time to take inventory of your wardrobe. Review what you already have in your closet to see what you have that fits your spring outfits and style, or what you need to add.
Do you have these colors in your closet?
Do you need to add any items in these colors?
Do your existing items match these style characteristics?
Do you need to add any items to match these characteristics?
Do you have items that match your common themes?
Are there any items that you need to add to your wardrobe for spring?

It also helps you to make more focused and efficient shopping decisions. you’ll have a clear idea of what clothing and accessories you’re looking for, which saves you time and potentially money. And who doesn’t love that?
While your personal style really should be authentic to you, it can also evolve with seasonal trends. Spring is the perfect time to define your personal style.
